Apparently the fact that I am partially of American Indian blood is more telling than I thought. I have always been partial to beads, especially seed beads, but a few years ago the blood caught up with me!

First I bought a few basic colors, without having anything in mind to do with them, and then the habit began to cascade. So far I've managed to contain my habit to two small boxes and two larger ones, but my friends are convinced that some of my projects, at least, are surgically attached to me!

To me, designing beaded jewelry is a great deal like painting a picture or creating a sculpture. One must first see the idea in one's own mind, and then translate that into available materials, textures and colors.

If one is designing something with a particular person in mind, then color and texture become extremely important. People are very attached to their favorite colors, and usually a bit prejudiced for or against one texture or another. I hope you enjoy my work as much as I do when I'm working on it.
